"Much easier to set up than the old fence on my BS400. Easier to place on the other side of the bandsaw blade so it does what it says. The scale is difficult to read and i am considering putting something black in the markings but not sure what to use yet as i don't want to ruin the scale. To use a blade on the other side of the blade you could also leave the new fence in place and put the old one on the opposite side of the blade. The two heights of fence are handy but i'm not convinced by the ripsaw posts. I use jigs for ripsawing tree trunks and the large fence alone otherwise. This replacement removes the frustrations of setting up the old fence and moving it to the other side of the blade. I'm happy wih spending the money."

"I bought this to upgrade my BS350S fence kit, because I was fed up with swapping the whole fence arrangement over to the right hand side of the blade every time I wanted to tilt the table to make angled cuts on board edges. This way I can leave the bar in place and just swap the fence itself. What I do In fact I just fit the old fence when I want to make that cut and remove it afterwards. A couple of observations though. The fence can be skewed to compensate for worn blades which is useful. The adjustment mechanism has two handles, one to adjust the fence angle and another to lock the setting. The locking handle invariably changes the setting slightly once you tighten it, so the process is fiddly and needs to be repeated. A fence positioned at the extreme right hand side of the table isn't rigid enough to be relied on. It doesn't take much force to deflect it because the fixing points for the fence bar are far away (on the left side of the table) from where force is being applied. A cure could be to clamp the far end of the fence to the table, which would be easier if the fence actually reached that far but it doesn't - the new fence is even shorter than the old one, which itself is too short to reach. The kit comes with large and small fences and both have adjustable resaw bars which is all very useful. A 16mm spanner (not supplied) is needed to assemble the mounting bar to the table. All in all I'm pleased with the kit, and the speedy service from Yandles. I see the few slight drawbacks mentioned above as small engineering challenges which I can overcome if they prove to be long term problems."

"I have just fitted this to my BS400 bandsaw and first impressions are that it is a great improvement on the original fence. It has always been inconvenient to set the fence parallel to the blade. With the upgrade it is easy. I like the two fences as they give a range of heights that are easy to switch between as it’s a knob to undo the fence as opposed to two Allen bolts. My only misgiving is the engraving of the ruler scale on the chrome steel bar is not very visible. It’s a dark gold colour against bright chrome. In the very bright daylight lights of my workshop it’s very difficult to see. My fix, I have refitted the scale that came with the BS400. The original scale is also adjustable so overall it’s a better solution. If I was Record I would forget engraving the chrome bar and reduce the price accordingly."
