Transform your outdoor seating area with our premium Sapele Bench Slat Sets with Roundover Profile. Made from high-quality, sustainable Sapele wood and machined on-site in our sawmill, these bench slat sets can be used to replace old or broken bench slats, or you can create a beautiful new bench.

Sapele is a beautiful and durable hardwood that is commonly used for bench slats. It is native to tropical Africa and has a rich reddish-brown colour with a distinctive ribbon-like grain pattern that adds a touch of elegance to any outdoor space. Sapele is known for its high density, strength, and resistance to decay, making it a popular choice for furniture and outdoor structures.

A roundover profile, also known as round edged or eased edges, is a woodworking technique used to create smooth, curved corners/edges on a piece of wood. When applied to bench slats, a roundover profile can provide both comfort and style. The rounded edges eliminate sharp corners, making it more comfortable to sit on the bench for extended periods of time. Additionally, the rounded edges can add a visually pleasing touch to the bench, giving it a softer and more elegant appearance.

"Excellent product. Received very well wrapped in heavy duty polythene and bubble wrap. Web site gives various options on pull down for number and width of slats. For a "near living product" all remarkably straight with no obvious warping in any direction. All four sides are uniformly chamfered along the length. no dings, dents,no knots. You could not pick better yourself."

Sapele

Sapele is a medium to dark reddish brown heartwood predominantly from West Africa. It generally has a more random grain appearance meaning it can be liable to interlocked grain. Interlocked grain spirals around the centre of the tree thus alternating intermittently and causing a 'rough' effect, this can generally be reduced if not eliminated by heavy sanding.
