"So much better than my previous bench top bandsaw. Nice solid machine and heavy cast iron table though disappointingly not entirely flat. Resawed about 9m of semi green oak at 100mm thick and it coped surprisingly well. A light would have been a nice addition. "

"This was purchased as my first bandsaw and so far it has been excellent. Great service from Yandles, arrived when agreed, easy to put together and after a couple of video reviews, the setup went smoothly. Setting the guides was a bit tricky with trial and error but all working well. Cuts really well, smooth and straight and the quality of the saw is excellent, very sturdy. "I needed a bench top machine with a bigger capacity than my little old Power Devil which had seen twenty years service and was now getting a bit worn. I chose the Sabre 250 based upon the good features, cast iron table, two speeds if I wanted, and so on. It took longer to arrive than expected as it was trans-shipped from one haulier to another more local to my home. The machine needed to be set up nicely; out of the box some of the factory assembly was not well aligned, but if you've had a bandsaw before you know what to look for. If you don't have a dust extract system then you may just need to get one. My old bandsaw had a natural airflow created by the bottom wheel, and unaided it sent the sawdust out of the exit port. This Sabre doesn't work like that, and if you have no extraction then the sawdust gets circulated by the blade and deposited on the table. Having said all that, it cuts well and it cuts true, with virtually no vibration, so the finish of the cut is excellent. It's solidly built and heavy enough not to move about in use, and at 35 kg or so I can move it out of the way when I have to."

"Only cut some light ply board, so far seems ok. Couple of gripes. Fence locking lever does not lock down, couple of times it moved during operation. Fence would have been better being full width of table and locked on both ends. Second gripe, very difficult to to see guides for setting. All in all I am pleased with my purchase and have bought from Yandles before and find their service to be very good."

"Great piece of kit. I own a few Record products so knew I would be getting a good saw, mainly use it for cutting bowl blanks for turning. Saw arrived on date given, was easy enough to put together and get running. Record have a 5 year warranty on all their products in the unlikely event of a fault. "I had a cheep little bandsaw for years but i never used it as i found that it struggled to cut any thing over an inch thick and if you cut a curve the motor would stall leaving the blade stuck in the wood. I wanted to make some bandsaw boxes and some puzzle boxes, this saw was not going to perform this task. I like Record wood working machines as they are well made so I was looking at the 250 when i saw the Sabre 250, that was a problem, which one do i go for. the Sabre 250 was a lot more money than the standard 250, but already have a band saw that was totally useless I picked the Sabre. Yandles did not have it is stock, so I clicked the Email me when in stock button. They Emailed me as soon as there stock arrived, so I placed my order. The saw came 3 days later well packed and on a pallet, it was strait forwound to put to gather and to setup. The saw work very well and has changed my wood working experience, it has opened up all sorts of new projects. It is worth the extra money as the motor does not struggle when cutting thick hard woods. The saw and the service form Yandles has been brilliant and I will be dealing with the again, don't waste your cash on cheep as you will never be happy with your purchase, enjoy..... "

"Delivery was fast and safe. Firmly boxed and anchored to a wood pallet. No damage at all. Assembly was quite straight forward with a good manual. Set up and fine tuning was not easy but after an hour I was making very satisfactory test cuts. I do think, at this price range, a mitre guage should be included. In summary my comment would be "very satisfied""

"It took me quite a while to set the bandsaw up properly - largely down to it being quite fiddly to level the table properly - but the end result is impressive. Even with the blade provided I’m getting clean and straight cuts in a variety of timbers, accurate to within 0.2mm. The unit is generally robust and well made, with only a few rough edges commensurate with the price. The blade tensioning lever and ‘no tool’ guide settings are both very useful. The fence is very solid once properly adjusted and I really like the option to have both a high and low fence positions. The stand and wheel kit instructions weren’t the best, and one of the supplied castors had the wrong stem length. Yandles were helpful and a quick call to Record Power had 4 new castors in the post to me; excellent customer service. Overall very pleased with this compact yet powerful machine, a solid and much less expensive alternative to Axminster’s AT1854B, a bandsaw I’ve used extensively."

"Could do with a bit better quality control on Records part had to cut a washer in half and place under one side of the table levelling bolt to get the two sides of the level as one side of the table was higher than the other insert plate keeps coming out mitre guide rail does not slide over the top of the fence rail it hits it you have to lift the mitre gauge up or remove fence rail when using the mitre guide the only sabre saw 350-450 this has is more spokes in the wheels and tool free blade roller adjusters so a bit disappointing should have brought the BS250 and saved £70. "
