"Good piece of equipment for my woodturning needs. Easy to use and accurate cutting."

"Nice machine and a noticeable step up from my starter experience with a basic Clarke machine. Well packaged and easy to set up. As is supposed to be a “professional” model, think Record should put a cam tensioner on it and charge an extra £10 or whatever. Yandles service faultless. Very user friendly and personal attention if required"

"After reading historical reviews of damaged goods and faulty or missing parts, I decided to give Yandles a courtesy call before making my purchase. The gentleman who took my call could not have been more helpful and reassuring and told me exactly how my new bandsaw would be packed and despatched. I placed my order and waited with baited breath for it to arrive still expecting some kind of 'in transit' damage. Not so, everything arrived in good time and without so much as a single blemish on it. My new bandsaw came straight out of the box and with the expected setting up and fine tuning was up and running within just over an hour. It has to be said that this is a lovely piece of kit and runs like a finely tuned sewing machine and is unexpectedly quiet when running. Regarding depth of cut, the first piece that I ran through this was an 18" x 3" x 3" length of mahogany which I ran through a little over veneer thickness and it sailed through with ease. It's a little late for cutting a long story short but this bandsaw and the service that I received from Yandles is simply superb. Many thanks and I hope to deal with you again in the future."

"From the very first conversation that I had with the Yandles team, I knew that placing my order for a new Record Power BS250 bandsaw was going to be one of my better ideas rather than getting it through another source. I placed my order and requested a deferred despatch date and true to their word I received a message on the day that I had requested to say that it had been despatched with a tracking number and courier details. Regarding some reviews on other websites that I had read, machines were being received damaged due to what had been described as substandard packaging. Not so with Yandles, my bandsaw was delivered in its manufacturers box, on a pallet and wrapped for protection. The bandsaw itself upon opening was pristine and not a mark or a blemish on it.. lucky or not, I'll take that! The set up instructions are, as people say, a tad ambiguous but I like to get to know my machines so I probably took a little over an hour to set everything up to my liking. If anyone were to question whether this is the bandsaw for the small workshop owner then think no more. This is a lovely machine that is not only smooth but takes each and every cut in its stride. I cut my first samples out of 3"x 3" redwood to a thickness of 3mm and the thickness was consistent along an 18" length. Enough to say, I'm thoroughly impressed with both Yandles and my new Record BS250 bandsaw. My thanks to Yandles and I hope to deal with you again in the future."

"I have now had my BS250 for almost 2 years since buying it new from Yandles and it has been used most days in my hobby workshop due to the various lock-downs we have all had to endure recently and my own need to isolate during this period.
A small "tweak to one to the metal feet has solved the slight instability that I reported in my first product review, and the machine is now rock solid when placed on any flat surface.
I upgraded the small drive belt to a better quality one and changed the supplied saw blade to some that are made in Wales and the machine now runs like a sewing machine and cuts beautifully - it is superb and a real pleasure to use.
I have resisted buying an up-rated fence from a third party and have got used to always have to set it against an engineers set square every time it is fitted or moved as it cannot be adjusted or set to stay at right angles to the machine table.
I still have a use for a second machine of similar size in my model workshop and I will choose a Sabre 250 for this job as it will share many parts (including the blades) and if the fence on the Sabre 250 works better, I will also buy a spare one to use on my BS250 as it will save many hours of checking the fence even time it is moved.
This BS250 is a very good machine for the money, and with a couple of minor tweaks it can be improved still further at very little cost.
Highly recommended.

"very pleased with my band saw. good size for a small workshop and for doing home projects. If it the only power saw in a workshop I would suggest the purchase of a larger saw capable of resawing and ripping larger material. "

"I bought my new BS250 in July 2020 when it was on offer from Yandles with the stand and wheel kit.
The stand and wheel kit have still not been taken out of the box yet as I am using the machine on a workbench.
The BS250 was delivered safely with no damage to the outer box but the complete lower blade guide assembly was missing and the motor housing was dented.
These parts were replaced quickly after contacting Richard Strutt at Record who was more than helpful.
The machine runs very well but wobbles no-matter where I position it as one of the four mounting feet is higher than the other three and this is part of the main welded body of the machine so it is not adjustable.
As this mounting foot shows no signs of being bent or damaged, I have guessed that the main welded body of the machine is a little "twisted".
When the machine is being used it is naturally a little unstable without constantly adding small packing strips underneath this high point every time it is re-positioned, so I should try to get the main welded body replaced as it does not inspire confidence when I am using it.
I do want to buy a second machine for use in my model workshop and would like to try a Sabre 250 next but as it is such a similar machine I fear it may well share the same welded main body (?) and so I need to make sure that my next new machine is stable and does not wobble in use like this one has done from new.
The only other problem that I have with the machine in use is that the fence has to be set against a machine square every time it has its position moved as it will not pull-up correctly when the lever is tightened.
This is time consuming and should not be necessary and I am hoping the Sabre 250 fence will work better.
This is actually a very nice machine and Record have been good to deal with, but mine has a quality problem with the main welded body and the "niggle" about the adjustable fence could easily be improved to make the BS250 a superb machine for the money."

"The Record Power BS250 10" bandsaw is a really good piece of kit. It is sturdy, well made and is precise in it's cutting. I looked at another brand of similar price and the Record BS259 uses better material and has a really good build quality and is streets ahead (in my view, that is). It is a nice size, not too big for my DIYer workshop, and I used it to cut a shallow curve on a piece of 23mm Ash for a chair I am making. It was spot on, really easy to use and cut the curve great. Yes, I would recommend this Bandsaw. Also, the price and delivery service from Yandle& Sons Ltd cannot be faulted. They make purchasing online a pleasure. "

"Record Power manufactures great products and this is not the first one I purchased.
The Bandsaw arrived on time and was easy to assemble and setup.
Must follow the instructions.
The only reason I've not give 5 stars is that the fence adjustment guide has to be setup every time for adjust it.
Otherwise great product.

"Fantastic piece of kit, Very easy to set up, nice & quiet in use. Has handled everything asked of it up to now. I have now changed the blade to 1/2 inch for resawing some large oak pieces down to size & the cuts are very straight & were very easy. I have no problem recommending the BS250 to anyone looking for a decent bandsaw. The service from Yandle's was spot on as usual. "

" I bought the Record Power BS250 Premium 10”Bandsaw from Yandle and Sons about six weeks ago, delivered 5 days after ordering. Slight damage to motor fan cowling this looked as if it had been damaged in transit. Phoned Yandle and Sons the same day and the Band saw was collected the next day, three days later my replacement saw was delivered. The new saw was in perfect condition the quality is superb, I am more than pleased with the performance of the item. My next purchase will be the DS300 12” Disc sander, and I will be contacting the same company as I cannot fault the service and helpfulness from the staff. "
