Product Description

This one-day course offers an immersive introduction to the art of furniture making using traditional hand tools. Participants will embark on a hands-on journey to craft a small coffee table using time-honored techniques such as mortise and tenon joinery.

Throughout the course, participants will learn fundamental woodworking skills, including wood selection, measuring, marking, sawing, chiseling, and assembling. The focus will be on understanding the principles of joinery and gaining proficiency in using basic hand tools effectively.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants will start with raw materials and transform them into a functional and aesthetically pleasing coffee table. Emphasis will be placed on precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail as participants work through each step of the process.

Prerequisites: No prior woodworking experience is required. This course is designed for beginners with an interest in learning traditional woodworking techniques.

Materials and Tools: All necessary materials and tools will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Note: This course emphasizes the use of traditional hand tools, and power tools will not be utilized. Participants are encouraged to bring their enthusiasm for woodworking and a willingness to learn.

You will not need to bring any materials with you. Lunch is provided on the day in our cafe.  All courses are on site in Martock, Somerset and run from 10AM to 4PM
