Laguna P Flux HEPA Cyclone Dust Extractor with Fine Filter

"This is a fantastic piece of kit. I'm running it over a 200mm ducted system with 4 100mm primary outlets (3 split to 2) and there is plenty of suction with 2+ open. It also looks fabulous - like a space station from a 70s movie. The main dust collector slots in and out nicely as well. The remote works through a concrete/timber wall. There are some negatives. The quality of the recessed threads fitted into the frames are of inconsistent quality. Some you can tighten to a 'good' tightness in keeping with the weight and size of the machine and others spin before getting anywhere close - its a heavy piece of kit so one day these will require remedial work. I also reported 7 possible updates to the build manual that would help anyone putting one together. An important consideration for anyone thinking of installing one in a workshop located on a domestic property (or supply) are the electrical supply requirements. The manual says a 32A Type D MCB which are not easy to source. Type Cs are more common and mine seems to be OK so far but there are wider implications for electrical safety changing to Type C/D so this should only be done in discussion with a qualified electrician. The extractor really needs to be on its own dedicated circuit. It also states that the running ampage is 17amps, which is some power usage and related running cost. I'm glad that I also have an air filter to provide general filtering so the PFlux is only required when machines are in use. Finally, I am grateful that the extractor is located in an adjacent room to where I am working. The average DB level via my phone app is 75db which to me still feels very loud and if on constantly would be draining. Some noise is just the sound of suction and air rushing through the ducting system (this is obviously a good thing) and opening extra gates changes its tone but some is from the machine itself and its good that I'm not sharing a room with it. Despite its issues which are predominately build and installation based, I would definitely recommend the P-Flux 3 to the fully informed buyer. "
