Light enough to move off the bench when not in use and yet tough enough to produce 8" x 5" timber into flat and dimensioned pieces. The planing beds are precision ground aluminium and the guide fence is a rigid aluminium extrusion which can be tilted and locked at any angle up to 45 degrees when required.The steel thicknessing bed has an extension arm on the outfeed side and is supported in each corner by chain driven adjusting screws. Once the height is set, rubber coated feed rollers pass the timber through the high speed cutterblock leaving a beautiful finish with no roller marks.The dust hood is particularly good, fitting onto the thicknessing bed during planing operations and then moved over the top when thicknessing. As a safety feature a location sensor detects that the dust hood has been correctly fitted before allowing the motor to run.

Supplied with re-grindable knives, 100mm diameter dust extraction outlet, blade setting tool, 4 adjustable rubber feet, cable and plug.

"Good machine for the money. The change over from planer to thicknesser could probably be made easier. You have to remove the side guide to change to thicknessing. Could be easier or maybe designed tso as not to require removal ? Also there is a problem adjusting the guide to right angles correctly. I had to bodge with a washer as could not lock guide in position.. A little more design there would be good. I guess as I say good for the money and a 5 year guarantee. thanks"

"Charnwood PT200 , great service by yandles using dpd as a carrier is always a good move . My planer had damage to one of the plastic knobs . I found the part no on the back of the supplied instructions and rang charnwood direct . All sorted within 30 minutes a replacement will be sent within 2 days . Easy to set up step by step and the planer is excellent could not be happier shopping with yandles and teamed with charnwood you have a great support package well done to you both many thanks ."

"First, Yandles. Excellent service, competitive prices and fast delivery. I’ll definitely be back, and would recommend them without reservation. Second, the planer thicknesser: Pros: Easy to set up, with clear assembly instructions, and worked first time. It works well, produces a good finish easily and quickly. Once set up, producing a square edge on the planer was easy. Good performance for the price. Cons: A bit of care needed to set the fence up square, though it seems stable once set up. The dust extraction adapter has a grid in it (I suspect to prevent finger access to the cutters) that blocks with shavings. Removing the grid improved thins markedly. Changing from planing to thicknessing is a bit of a faff, involving removing the fence. Overall, though, I’m more than happy with the machine. 4 stars rather than 5 though, reflecting the niggles above."
