I took delivery of mine about 4 weeks ago. Now that I’ve had some time to put it to work, I can tell you it’s exceeds all my expectations. It’s as lovely to use as it is to look at. High quality cast iron & plenty of it. The largest thing I’ve turned so far is a 16″ spalted ash natural edge bowl. Not to the lathes full capacity but a huge bowl none the less. No vibration and ample power. After rotating the headstock & swinging it back again it lined up perfectly to the tailstock. The engineering & build quality of this lathe is almost exceptional. I have found 3 small faults, though they are small. The first is the lack of a viewing window for indexing. They put one on the Herald some I’m surprised Record omitted it on this lathe. Also the spring for the indexing pin is far stiffer then needed & makes it a fiddle to use. the 3rd niggle is the magnates on the control box need to be stronger. When pushing the ON/OFF buttons unless you push very directly it tends to slide away from you. I’ve gotten used to it now but it’s nearly been on the floor a few times. Having said that I love the fact of the digital speed readout is on the control box rather then the headstock like nearly all other lathes. The quality & value is outstanding & you could pay allot more for a lesser lathe. If you’re thinking about getting one, do it quick before Record realizes they seriously under priced it compared to the competition. Niggles aside it’s a fantastic lathe for an amazing price.

I too took delivery of my Regent approx 4 weeks. Ditto’s Max Fleming’s review but I still love it and when compared to others with the same features, it represents excellent value for money. So far I’ve turned some 300mms diameter resined bowls and a large leylandii bowl measuring 380 (dia) x 200mm that benefited from the variable speed function superbly. I’ve also secured to the floor which provides excellent stability. And to conclude, you’ve also got Record Power’s 5 yr guarantee and Yandles great after sales support.

Well made machine – assembly was simple and straightforward achieved without help but a little forward planning.

Received my lathe with accessories. It was very heavy to more to the shed. Once in I found it to be well treated and packaged and to a little while too unpack. All items were present. When fully assemble and cleaned of protective grease I was eager to get stared once I had read all the manuals first. It is a joy to work with plenty of power and torque , very stable. David at Yandles was extremely helpful in my final choice of the Regeant lathe am I am glad I bought it as I feel this will give me many hours / years of use also knowing there is a 5year warranty . Thank you PS I will coming to Somerset soon for some bits and pieces

After much deliberation and research of other lathes I decided on the Coronet Regent because it has all the features I need and with a few add ons should I ever need them and the price was right for me because it was on offer when I purchased it. I also bought the outrigger attachment which I haven’t used yet but Ian hoping to soon. The main reason for buying the lathe was the 1.5 kW motor, I have a woodcut bowl saver attachment for coring multiple bowls from 1 blank, however the 750W motor on my Axminster Professional AP 350 lathe although it did core a 14″ blank, it was on the limit. The Coronet Regent can cope with much bigger blanks. The build quality is very good, the castings are well finished and the machine is very stable even when turning large unbalanced blanks. The icing on the cake with this machines the 5 year warrantee. The only niggle I have with the machine is that it takes longer to slow down than I have been used to.

What a Machine, should have ordered it when it came out.
Even the packaging was in itself very well done
I ordered it late on a Saturday evening, it arrived on the following Friday. My son helped me put it together, no, I helped my son would be correct.
I started the lathe on the Monday morning, it was so quiet and I mean extremely quiet. It is now 5 days in and I’m loving every minute using this lathe. Being a widow I can’t wait to go into the workshop and get turning

Record power Coronet Regent lathe is the best lathe I have purchased. It’s very heavy and is definitely a two man job.
I can’t believe just how quiet it is. Very sturdy, took me a while to get it levelled along and across the bed.
Well worth the money.
