The Woodcut Tools Pro-Forme Shaft is the foundation of the Pro-Forme Hollowing System, designed for control, strength, and versatility across a range of hollowing projects. Available with or without the Powerhead cutter, the Pro-Forme Shaft allows turners to build their own combination of tools for maximum efficiency and value.

For a cost-effective option, choose an Eco Shaft (without cutter) and simply move your existing Pro-Forme Powerhead cutter between shafts. This lets you enjoy the full performance of the Pro-Forme system without the extra cost of purchasing multiple cutters.

  • Bent Shaft – perfect for reaching under the shoulder of deeper hollow forms.
• Interchangeable system – Quickly swap between Powerhead, Scraper Head, or Little Wonder Cup Tool Head to suit each stage of hollowing.
• Solid performance – Heavy-duty 5/8″ diameter shaft reaches up to 10″ over the tool rest and can hollow forms up to 13″ deep (even deeper with the Irons Tool Rest).
• Smooth, safe cutting – Adjustable brass gauge prevents dig-ins, while the open-sided cutter design clears shavings efficiently (makes shavings, not dust).
• Simple sharpening – Maintain the cutter easily using a Woodcut Credit Card Diamond Hone; cutters are also replaceable.
• Versatile material use – Designed for both cross and end grain, in dry or green wood. Best results achieved when using sharp cutters on green timber.
