The Verum Plane Blade for Verum No. 62 is crafted from 3mm thick T10 water hardened carbon steel ground to 25 degrees. T10 is quick to hone, and it keeps sharper for longer than traditional steels, even on tough timbers, allowing more planing and less frequent sharpening!
These 25 degree ground blades can be sharpened at 38 or 50 degrees to give “York” or “Cabinet” pitch for taming wild gnarly grain and final smoothing. Having blades with different cambers allows for a range of timber preparation and finishing task to maximise your planes versatility.
