This innovative table saw has been designed to provide the serious home cabinet or furniture maker with a solid, accurate and versatile machine in a compact form. Boasting many features only found on much more expensive table saws, this machine offers real value for money without compromising quality or flexibility.
The table is made from finely ground cast iron, providing weight, rigidity and an unbeatable working surface. Importantly, many machines in this sector only have an 8” blade with small capacity but the TS250C has a 10” blade, enabling an impressive 80 mm depth of cut. The blade is powered by a superior quality belt driven 2 hp induction motor for smooth, quiet, long lasting performance.
The rack and pinion rise and tilt features two separate handles for rise and fall of the blade and for blade tilt. The whole saw unit is cast iron and is supported on the welded steel frame by two large cast iron trunnions, machined for smoothness
and accuracy.
The solid rip fence features a heavy extrusion mounted on a heavy cast iron mount with micro adjustment, which in turn is fitted to a solid steel bar for maximum rigidity and support.
The machine is supplied on a solid cabinet base with an optional jockey style wheelkit available.

I recently purchased this machine on recommendation from Yandles that it was superior to the Charnwood which I had chosen. The basic saw is not bad, but there is one glaring fault which even Record had not realised. When it comes to changing the drive belt, it is a major strip down as the pulley is encapsulated in the main casting. This means you actually have to take out the main saw spindle along with its bearings so that you can loop the belt over the pulley. This is not shown or mentioned in the manual and when I questioned Record they were at a loss to explain why and offered a manual from another saw which also failed to have any mention of the work. They finally advised that it might be beneficial to call on a Record engineer to do the work. This is a very bad selling point and shows that the machines are made by a third party in China and Record do not really know what they are selling. A saw of this standard should be far easier to maintain.

The saw is well manufactured and resonably easy when it comes to assembly
However I have found that the sliding table cannot be adjusted sufficiently to make it run true to the blade and therefore will not cut square.
I am in discussions with Record Power regarding this but expected more from a machine costing almost £1000.00

This is my 2nd review of the TS250C as due to a workshop revamp, I have only just commissioned the saw. Today I have used the saw for approx 45 mins in total and have been disappointed with the awful noise that the motor makes when it starts. However, after cutting several hardwood boards I was quite impressed with the performance until after stopping for lunch, it refused to restart and is now dead as a doornail. I contacted Record who asked me to check the power at the motor which means I had to remove the entire table, extensions, fence beam and sliding table just to get to the motor connection box. Luckily I do have a multimeter and am able to carry out minor electrical checks but not every customer will be able to.It also means I will have to reset up all the tables and beam from scratch again once the saw is working. It seems that every form of maintenance requires a major strip down which points to a very poor design. I have therefore dropped my rating to three stars and now have to wait to see what will happen with Record.

This is my 3rd review of the TS250C which failed after less than a total of an hours use. I have dropped my rating to 2 stars.
When asked by Record to conduct certain electrical tests, I found that the saw motor had been wired incorrectly to the circuit diagram which was obviously why the motor made a grunting noise on starting and then failed prematurely. I also found that parts of the saw had not been assembled correctly with fixings not being done up which meant that the motor casting was not supported and could wander. These fixings do not have direct access and would require a major stripdown in order to get a screwdriver into the crosshead screws.
Record have now sent me a replacement saw which is much better than the 1st one but I had to keep the original sliding table and extension table which did not fit as well to the new cast iron table as the 1st saw showing that their build tolerances are quite wide. I cannot get the sliding table or the fence to align as they should without having to rework some of the holes. I have to say that I am very disappointed with the design of this saw. Record have on this occasion arranged collection of the old saw, but buyer beware – Read the terms of the 5 year guarantee as it is the customer who is normally responsible for the cost of couriers if the machine has to go back for repair.

Well, what can I say? This, when assembled is a beautiful piece of equipment. The sliding table will cause me to redesign a few things like sleds, but no problem.
The saw was delivered on a pallet in several boxes. Well packed and protected. This does not mean you will be able to move it by yourself! Make sure a mate is on hand. The weight is not overstated.
Assembly was not straight forward. The sliding table was a long way out of adjustment and needed considerable patience to adjust.
Instructions Are only basic. The manual was also out of date for the latest standard of manufacture which led to a few curses.
A phone call to Record put me in touch with their rep who was sound however, and allowed me to get everything done.
