Cast Iron Table Saw with a 10″ diameter blade. The 2018 Model is now available with an upgraded quick action precision rip fence.
Quiet Induction Motor Cast Iron Precision Ground Table Extension Tables as Standard Equipment Sliding Carriage as Standard Equipment Separate Handwheels for Blade Adjustment Quick Action Precision Rip Fence 100mm Dust Extraction Outlet Solid Floorstand Base Included Optional Wheel Kit Available
First launched in 2015, the W629 has now become our best selling table saw model. The cutting capacities are big enough for any hobby workshop, providing a level of accuracy only normally found on industrial machinery, with a compact foot print suited to the average sized workshop.
The main table is precision ground cast iron, and has 2 fabricated side extension tables to give impressive cutting capacities, perfect for the smaller workshop. The induction motor turns the blade via a drive belt which reduces noise and increases accuracy.
Blade height and blade angle are controlled using 2 separate hand wheels. The sliding carriage, included as standard, is a pleasure to use with a cast iron bed travelling on 4 bearing guides. Any angle can be set on the long support fence. A screw clamp holds the work secure and a flip over length stop is fitted for repeat cuts.
Supplied with 36 tooth TCT sawblade, sliding carriage, extension tables, sliding mitre fence, floorstand, adjustable feet, cable and plug.
There are 3 ways to configure the table saw:
The sliding carriage can be fitted on either side of the blade so that you can work on the left or right.
If you are not using the sliding carriage, you can fit one extension table on either side of the blade.
For compact storage the extension tables and sliding carriage can be quickly removed, (2 minutes). They reassemble without any further setting up required.

It is highly recommended that a dust extractor is used at all times with this saw to prevent the harmful build up of dust and chips. The hose kit supplied collects dust from the sawguard and takes it to the single 100mm diameter hose connection point at the back of the machine.
Please note: It is not possible to use a stacked dado set with this saw.

glad i bought this saw, was thinking of something larger, but with limited room glad i decided on this one, great for what i need at a great price from Yandles

Really pleased with the saw. I’ve been busy modifying the crown guard so it doesn’t fit on the riving knife, but I always intended dong this. It took a while to set up and the only thing I’m not happy about at the moment is the fence isn’t 90 degrees to the table surface, so it’ll need a bit of fettling. But I think you’ve got to expect to have to “tune it” to your requirements. The main thing is that it’s a solid well made machine underneath. Bought from Yandles but delivered straight from Charnwood cheaper than Charnwood could do it.

I am pleased with this table saw and consider it value for money. It suits my hobby joinery needs but would not be suitable for more industrial purposes. As with any machinery, how well it works depends on how carefully you set it up. I found the sliding table clunky and the mitre square on the sliding table difficult to use accurately, but will revisit setting it up accurately another time. The flip-stop is very crude. The main fence was not square and I recommend that users take it apart and aline it, rather than depend on the factory setting. The throat plate sits slightly below the level of the table and snags smaller timber on cutting. There does seem to be a way of adusting its height relative to the table top except by making your own shim or very thin washer. The motor runs quietly and has already proven to be very capable at maximum cutting depth. Two unexpected setup issues were – (1) the internal dust hose is not mentioned in the manual and I ended up fitting this only after assembling the unit (take off both blue side panels to do so). Use a heat gun to soften the hose so that it fits easily. (2) I mount all my machinery on wheels. Although the base cabinet has M10 nut fittings suitable for most castors, the metal flange on the base is not strong enough to support the weight of the saw. The wheels bent under after a while. I had to mount the saw on a rigid chasis with wheels in the end. Reinforcing the feet with welds or thicker sheet metal would be helpful. Otherwise, the saw seems well made and assembled.

Somewhat disappointed. Bought for a local Men’s Shed. It takes a lot of setting up, and adjustments are not easy (fence bar is set using nuts either side of a plate). More importantly, there are a number of design flaws. The dust collection shroud narrows at the bottom, with a < 3in outlet at the side- the tight bend blocks with any strips, and is not easy to access. The hose becomes 4in at the frame- a bit pointless. The poor fit of the dust shroud at the top means that much escapes, and soon clogs the trunnion movement. The dust collection on the crown guard is a joke- a long tube ~1in dia that is taken from the very back of the guard. It collects very little. I have replaced the access panel bolts with knobs- you have to be in cleaning so often.
Changing the riving knife is a nightmare- lots of fiddling with spanners.
I have a DeWalt site saw at home – it is actually more accurate, and needs much less attention and adjustment.
