Combining the trusted Tru-Grind Tool Holder with the new-generation Tru-Grind Premium Base Slide, this system takes sharpening accuracy and ease to the next level.

The Simple 3-Step Sharpening Solution

1. Set the tool protrusion – 50 mm (2 inches).
2. Set the tool holder leg – adjust to your chosen bevel angle.
3. Set the base slide – position for your exact setup.

Record these three numbers on your Repeatability Chart (included in your user guide) to repeat the exact bevel angle every time – simple, accurate, and consistent.

In the 1990s, Ken Port designed the original Tru-Grind to simplify sharpening for turners everywhere. Loved for over 25 years, it became one of the most widely used sharpening systems in woodturning.
In 2020, Woodcut Tools began developing a higher-spec system based on global turner feedback. After three years of testing prototypes with professional and hobbyist turners, the Tru-Grind Premium Base Slide and Premium Sturdy Rest were released in 2023 – refined, durable, and offering more precise repeatability than ever.
