Planing shaft with carbide (HW) indexable inserts (can be used on 4 sides!):
The advantage of this carbide indexable insert planing shaft over conventional strip planing shafts is not only its long cutting life, but also the fact that no fine adjustment is necessary when changing planing knives. This naturally saves time and eliminates the need for tedious adjustment work.
Repeat accuracy and thus precision are important advantages of carbide indexable inserts. If an indexable insert is damaged, it is sufficient to replace only that one insert and not all of the blades, as would be the case with a strip planing blade shaft.
