If you need to replace or repair your old or broken bench slats, our Sapele Bench Slats with a PAR Profile are the perfect solution.

Sapele is a beautiful and durable hardwood that is commonly used for bench slats. It is native to tropical Africa and has a rich reddish-brown colour with a distinctive ribbon-like grain pattern that adds a touch of elegance to any outdoor space. Sapele is known for its high density, strength, and resistance to decay, making it a popular choice for furniture and outdoor structures.

The planed all round (PAR) profile is a type of wood finishing that involves machining the wood to create a smooth and uniform surface on all sides. This profile is particularly well-suited for bench slats, as it provides a sleek and polished appearance that is both attractive, modern and functional. With a PAR profile, the wood is completely flat, which reduces the risk of splinters or rough edges that could be uncomfortable for users. Additionally, the uniform surface allows for a consistent finish and makes it easier to attach the slats to the bench frame.

These bench slats are machined on site in our sawmill and are available in a range of sizes to fit your bench perfectly.

We offer two timber options: Sapele and European Oak. Sapele is a versatile, durable West African hardwood (Entandrophragma cylindricum), often used as a sustainable and cost‑effective alternative to Mahogany. It is dense and strong, offering high resistance to impact and decay, making it suitable for both interior and exterior use. It also takes paint very well. European Oak, on the other hand, is a more traditional choice. It is a premier hardwood valued for its exceptional strength, natural durability, and elegant appearance. It typically features a light tan to warm golden‑brown heartwood with a straight, coarse grain. Highly resistant to decay and wear, it is suitable for both interior and high‑traffic applications. As a premium product, the grain is usually showcased, so an oil finish is recommended. Paints can be prone to flaking on Oak
