If space is at a premium in your workshop, mounting your machinery or work stands onto a wheel base, could be the solution to using the area more effectively. Once assembled to the correct footprint size, the wheel base makes it easy for 1 person to move large heavy machinery, even up to 225kg in weight.
Operation is simple: Press down the two foot pedals to lower the steering wheels and lift the machine off the floor. The steering wheels swivel through 360 degrees with a bearing mount. The machine can now be easily moved around the workshop and parked until needed. To raise the two foot pedals to lower the machine back onto the rubber pads and it is ready to use.
Having two fixed wheels and two steering wheels allows excellent manoeuvring across a relatively flat floor surface.
The base can be assembled either as a square shape or a rectangle shape to suit the footprint of the machine being mounted.
It can be used with a huge variety of machines including Planer Thicknessers, Table Saws, Bandsaws, Sanders, Spindle Moulders, Lathes and home made benches.

This is a solid base. It uses heavy gauge steel and when assembled is very rigid and steady. It’s a bit fiddly to assemble and the instructions are not great, but it’s easy to figure out. Best to assemble it around the actual item it’s going to be used with. That way, the frame will end up a snug fit. The instructions suggest measuring the base of the machine it is going to be used with and adding 20mm to the dimensions. This leaves unnecessarily big gaps in my view.

The product is fine – robust and quite easy to assemble. Unfortunately, it came with a part missing. I called Yandles with the expectation that there would then be weeks of hassle trying to get the shortfall resolved with Charnwood but the missing part arrived within 3 days and all is now well. So overall, a good service and a good recovery from a potential problem.

I bought an identical base from another well known national tool supply company for my bandsaw. I say identical as in the same way put together and the same design yet much thinner steel and a poor powder coating that is coming off after only 3 months of use. You get what you pay for. I watched a review on YouTube and could see the quality was much much better. I intend to buy another Charnwood wheelbase for my bandsaw now. I am more than happy with this wheelbase and would recommend one to anybody. Buy with confidence from Yandles. Great products at great prices.

It does exactly as described, adjusts to various sizes, eg. square, rectangle. Quality is 5 star. When first opening box, your confronted with loads of bits, but using a bit of common sense, easy to work out. I have 2 of them, one for my heavy Charnwood 10″ sliding table saw and this new one for a used old wooden sideboard, which is ideal for tool storage, table router, and table planer/thicknesser. Have small garden workshop, so need to be able to move things around. Delivery, service, and help as usual with Yandles, 5 star.
