Green Oak or Fresh Sawn Oak is a type of timber that is cut fresh from the log. This material ranges in colour from pale pink to honey-hued, and over time weathers to a light grey.
This type of oak can be used to create frames that are long-lasting, typically lasting more than 100 years. Green Oak also has a much smaller carbon footprint than most other building materials, making it an environmentally friendly choice.
Thanks to careful forest management practices such as those outlined by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) or the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), new Oak trees are able to be grown alongside existing trees in a way that ensures healthy forests for years to come, making Oak a renewable building material.
Timber Delivery Rates for Mainland UK start from Bench slats - £11.99 Large Timber - £19.99 Double Pallet - £119.99(up to 2.4m) Triple Pallet - £169.00 (up to 3.6m). Green oak is delivered by pallet force deliveries on a two-day service, although this can vary depending on demand. The length of the timber and pallet spaces determines the costs.
Green oak is heavy and it is your responsibility to lift it off the lorry (the driver is under no obligation to help). Please ensure you have the necessary equipment or manpower to unload the lorry. This may require more than one person. Our office can advise on approximate weights.
If there are access issues please advise prior to delivery and we can arrange necessary transport although this may occur a surcharge.
We will call before dispatch once the order is ready to organise a delivery day. We book all deliveries and Pallet Force will call on the day of delivery to give a rough delivery time.
Local delivery can be organised on our flatbed. Hi-ab delivery can be organised at an additional cost. Please call 01935 822207 option 3 or email timber@yandles.co.uk.
All deliveries must be accepted in person or there could be a re-delivery fee.
Please accept our apologies; for the following postcodes, delivery at the price quoted can only be unloaded by mechanical means (forklift etc.). If it needs to be manually unloaded, please email timber@yandles.co.uk and we can look at alternative delivery methods.
