Originating from Africa, Pau Rosa is a rare and exotic hardwood, with limited availability. Our stock is extremely limited on these blanks!
Appearance:
These blanks feature a deep red heartwood with subtle pink hues, accented by darker red streaks running along the grain, which is often wavy or interlocked. White to pale yellow sapwood is clearly defined from the heartwood, adding natural contrast—the sapwood is equally hard and can be turned. The timber exhibits a uniform medium to coarse texture and a high natural lustre.
Hardness & Workability:
Pau Rosa is a dense, hard hardwood, perfect for fine turning projects. Its excellent natural polish means that once turned, it will shine like glass, highlighting the vibrant color and intricate grain patterns.
