Its fine, straight grain gives each piece a smooth, uniform look that finishes beautifully. American Cherry is a medium-density hardwood, typically around 560–600 kg/m³, giving it a lightweight yet durable feel. This balanced density makes it ideal for pen makers who prefer a comfortable, well-proportioned finished pen.
Renowned for its excellent workability, Cherry turns effortlessly on the lathe and produces crisp, clean cuts with minimal resistance. It sands easily to a silky finish and takes oils, varnishes, and CA beautifully—developing a warm, glowing luster.
