‘Masters of the Lathe’ with Special Guest Turners + Record Power Road Show & Sale!

Join us on Saturday, 5th April for Masters of the Lathe – the Woodturning event of the year! This event will feature a wealth of well-known Woodturners all demonstrating at this FREE event, hosted on-site, at Yandles! From bowls to hollow forms, goblets to boxes, we are assembling an A-Team of top demonstrators to showcase their skills on the lathe. In association with Record Power, each Woodturner will have their own lathe & will be demonstrating throughout the day. Join us & see these masters in action, live & for free!

• Nathanael Griffiths – Britain’s Best Woodworker 2023

Winner of Handmade Britain’s Best Woodworker 2023 – Nathanael will be here for the event, demonstrating his Woodturning skills – sponsored by Chestnut.

• Phil Irons RPT

RPT, Woodturner, Tutor & Author Phil will showcase his skills throughout the day! Phil will be focusing his skills on ‘Turning Hollow Forms’ – a signature piece of his, throughout the day.

• Joey Richardson RPT

RPT Joey Richardson turns, sculpts & burns the most amazing pieces using her woodturning, carving & pyrography skills. Joey will be focusing on ‘Thin walled turning’ & ‘Pyrography on Woodturning’ throughout the day.

• Jason Breach RPT

A renowned name in Woodturning with almost 40 years of experience, RPT Jason will demonstrate his ‘box-turning’ & ‘Ball Clocks’ throughout the day.

• Paul Riddler RPT

Paul has been our resident course instructor for many years, running 1 & 2-day courses here at Yandles. A patient tutor with thousands of students, RPT Paul Riddler will be inside our training rooms offering Woodturning ‘Taster Sessions’ – must be pre-booked.

• Emerging Turners Programme

To change the demographic of woodturning in the UK by encouraging the growth of professionally-minded turners amongst a younger cohort! Proudly promoting the ETP here at Yandles. Come & chat to like-minded people & find out ho you can get involved!

Our very own Dan Tarrant will be demonstrating & promoting the ETP.

Local Clubs:

With the Woodturning event of the year here at Yandles, local Woodturning Clubs will be in attendance with a stand to discuss with like-minded people looking to join or just chat about woodturning.

• Martock & District Woodturners, our local club, will be on hand to chat & demo their skills.
• ‘Somerset Bodgers’ will also have a space at this event

Woodturning Taster Sessions!

They’re back by popular demand! But you will have to be quick, these always sell out fast. Book your 1-hour slot with RPT Paul Riddler, Paul will be in our training room, with 4-herald lathes in action. Try your hand at woodturning with our 1-hour taster sessions! Choose from bowls or pens & take advantage of a 1-hour tuition session ‘Try before you buy’ – a great experience for beginning woodturners.
