The Laguna Supermax 16|32 Drum Sander is a compact powerhouse, meticulously engineered for top-tier efficiency and precision, delivering professional-grade sanding performance. This sander is brimming with innovative features that guarantee accuracy, productivity, and user-friendliness.
The open-ended drum design allows for 400mm in a single pass and an impressive 800mm maximum sanding width in just two passes, making it perfect for larger projects and enhancing the sander’s versatility. The patented quick adjust lever enables full height adjustments with a single pull that can then be finely adjusted with the handwheel, significantly reducing set-up time and boosting productivity.
For consistent thickness and superior quality of output, the sander is equipped with a built-in digital readout (DRO). The INTELLISAND technology features a variable speed conveyor table that automatically adjusts to maintain a consistent finish, accommodating varying grain patterns and densities.
Dust management is a breeze with the 100mm diameter turbo-vented dust port, which increases airflow to a dust collector by 15%, enhancing dust removal when connected to a suitable dust extractor. Perfect feed alignment ensures that the drum carriage is bolted to the base, eliminating any movement or alignment issues. Additionally, a simple adjustment feature allows the conveyor to be quickly and easily aligned to the sanding head with just one nut.
When sanding stock wider than 400mm and making two passes, the index lever will adjust the conveyor to give a seamless finish. Built to last, the robust construction of the Laguna Supermax 16|32 Drum Sander includes a floor stand and comes with a 1 x 80G wrap, ready for immediate use. Experience the ultimate in sanding performance and efficiency with this exceptional tool.

Bought this sander after reading various (mostly US) reviews and very happy with the decision I made. Very high quality build and a solid base unit. Some really good features including the quick height adjustment, the digital readout and the extra space around the drum for installing/taking off the abrasive sheets. Overall, a well-engineered product that will be very useful in the workshop.

Excellent service and delivery. Early days as not had the machine too long. So far, I am impressed. The set up was straight forward with out feed and in feed tables. Early impressions are that it’s easy to operate whereas other options I considered did not give me the same confidence.

The Laguna 16-32 was an upgrade to my 10″ drum sander. This is the piece of kit to buy if you want a drum sander of this size. Incredibly well made machine. I haven’t got mine attached to the base but have it mounted on a cabinet.

First let me express my thanks to the young lady driver from the pallet delivery company who delivered my drum sander, for backing up a 100 metre private lane to my workshop. As she had been doing the job for just 3 months she did brilliantly and is to be congratulated. So on to the drum sander. I bought this on the strength of the detailed You Tube reviews especially the one from Andy from the Wood Grafters which are 3 very detailed introduction and setup videos, these are very helpful. The machine’s design and build are excellent. The stand is robust and straightforward. I bought a £15 set of castors which replaced the feet to make it very maneuverable. However, my experience has been that the sander itself takes quite a lot of setting up, especially to get the feed belt parallel with the drum. Out of the box mine was almost 3mm out. Getting the additional tables positioned correctly has also been time consuming. And the pressure rollers also need resetting. A further issue is that the accompanying machine manual is out of date. Does is work effectively? Yes, but there is a learning curve. You need to watch as many videos as possible regarding the use of drum sanders and practice, being prepared to create scrap wood. For me long term I consider the sander will be a good investment in terms of time saving and quality standards, however, the initial phase has been challenging. Hence the reason for 4 stars.

I considered various drum sanders and I am glad I opted for the more expensive Laguna 16 32. Definitely worth the money. The intelisa d system works well . Set up was trouble free. Needs 2 people to lift and position it on legs. Great buy

Just over a month in and I’m still as impressed with this machine as I was on day 1.
Really well thought out design and quality build. Reduces production time and allows you to get the most out of your material. For those who (like me) suffer the plague of snipe from the thicknesser, a little bit of forward thinking eliminates that issue. If your looking or on the fence … Stop browsing, get off your fence and hit the buy now option … You’ll wonder how you ever coped without it! 😆
