Old Windmill

When strolling sunny country roads, it’s always nice to get a wave from a kind local. Windpower has been a feature of Norfolk since the 14th century and many a bygone breeze has been harnessed for milling, grinding and pumping. Up until halfway through the last century the Berney Arms windmill was draining water off the fens. It still stands ready to welcome those who make the journey, which is by boat or a 3 mile walk from the nearest road.
