DESCRIPTION:Our Texturing and Decoration Techniques on Woodturning course is a geat way to explore ways to enhance your turned projects. \nJoin us for a focused 2-hour hands-on session where you’ll learn how to decorate and colour your turned wood pieces using a range of texturing techniques. This workshop is designed for participants with some prior woodturning experience. \nYou’ll work with different tools and materials to explore ways of enhancing the surface of turned shapes. Techniques will include the use of the Robert Sorby texturing and spiralling tool\, along with other methods to create patterns and visual interest. We’ll also cover basic colouring approaches to help bring your designs to life. \nEach participant will take home their sample pieces from the session. Sally’s pieces\, often inspired by landscape\, texture\, and light\, showcase a fusion of craftsmanship and artistic expression that resonates across both craft and fine art audiences. \n\nPaul Ridler RPT – Woodturning Sessions / try before you buy!\n\nPaul Ridler is a seasoned British woodturner and Registered Professional Turner (RPT) with over 30 years of experience at the lathe\, known both for his craftsmanship and his dedication to teaching woodturning skills to others. He regularly leads woodturning demonstrations and training sessions\, based right here at Yandles\, including taster sessions and workshops at events. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a 2-hour hands-on woodturning session focused on turning green oak bowls. This workshop is designed for those with some prior woodturning experience — it’s not suitable for complete beginners. \nUnder guidance\, you’ll work with freshly cut green oak to rough out a bowl blank on the lathe. The emphasis will be on safe tool use\, basic shaping\, and preparing your bowl for drying. You’ll take your part-turned bowl home to dry and complete the finishing process later. \nAll tools and materials are provided. Throughout his years of turning\, Paul has enjoyed experimenting and pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved within the craft. With 20+ years of experience in woodturning\, Paul is keen to pass on his knowledge through tuition and demonstrations.
