Led by a skilled furniture maker with over a decade of teaching expertise\, this program serves as a gateway to the world of joinery\, box making\, furniture crafting\, and beyond. \nThroughout this course\, you will acquire the following skills: \n\nPrecise marking techniques employing engineer squares\, marking knives\, rulers\, and various marking tools.\nMastery of sawing methods using both western and Japanese-style saws.\nHandcrafted cutting and fitting of joints using chisels.\nProper care and sharpening techniques for your tools.\n\nImmerse yourself in a day of hands-on learning as you explore the intricate techniques for creating accurate hand-cut joinery through sawing and chiseling. By the end of the course\, you will proudly take home a small but impressive piece\, such as a trivet\, pot stand\, or mug stand\, showcasing your newly acquired woodworking skills. \nYou will not need to bring any materials with you. DESCRIPTION:Learn to turn with our two-day Woodturning courses! \nNow Includes Lunch! \nHosted inside our newly refurbished Record Power Authorised Training Centre\, you will learn everything you need to know to begin your journey as a Woodturner including the Health & Safety aspects\, an introduction to Woodturning\, the basics of the machines and how to use them including the specifications of the machines being used\, how to sharpen your tools (including an overview of the different types of sharpening machines)\, Timber types\, how to cut & use your wood\, how to safely mount your timber & begin woodturning\, through to the finishing process. \nAfter your 2-day course\, you will leave with the confidence to begin woodturning in your own workshop. \nInside our Authorised Record Power Training Centre we have all the latest tools & machines from Record Power including: \n\nCoronet Herald Lathes\nSharpening Systems\nTurning Tools\nExtraction systems\nAccessories including chucks\, centres\, faceplates & more!\n\nWe also have the Robert Sorby ProEdge Sharpening System and a Tormek T8 inside the room alongside a wide selection of turning tools from different manufacturers available to try out. \nOur 2-day courses are for up to 4-students and will not run with fewer than 2-students.
