This event will feature a wealth of well-known Woodturners all demonstrating at this FREE event\, hosted on-site\, at Yandles inside our dedicated Woodturning Marque! From bowls to hollow forms\, goblets to boxes\, we are assembling an A-Team of top demonstrators to showcase their skills on the lathe. Supported by Record Power\, each Woodturner will have their own lathe & will be demonstrating throughout the day. \nJoin us & see these masters in action\, live & always free! \nSpecial guests: \n\nEmma Cook RPT – The Tiny Turner\n\nAbout Emma: \nInternationally Known for well executed turnings with carvings and colour such as her ‘cupcake’ boxes and resin pendants.  In 2024 Emma was made Chair of the Registered Professional Turners (RPT) and hopes to actively promote the profession across the UK.  Emma will be showing how turning can be enhanced with Jo Sonja finishes. \n\nColwin Way RPT\n\nAbout Colwin: \nWest Country Based woodturner Colwin has been turning for over 40 years and is best known for his skew chisel work\, turning wooden fruit and replicating german turnings such as smokers and nutcrackers.  Colwin will be demonstrating skew chisel projects and some green turning \n\nMick Hanbury\n\nAbout Mick: \nMick started his career as a cabinet maker where he made all manner of artefacts. Around 25 years ago\, Mick took to woodturning and since then has grown in stature to be one of the finest artistic turners in the world. Mick will be turning a decorative shield\, goblets and boxes \n\nKatie Armstrong RPT\n\nAbout Katie: \nAlthough the youngest demonstrator at this event Katie an abundance of skill and a professional attitude.  A Graduate of the Emerging Turner’s Programme\, Katie likes to turn big projects (including a 6ft finial for a windmill) and square bowls.  Katie will be demonstrating square bowls and some skew projects. \n\nSteven Gordon RPT\n\nAbout Steven: \nFormer antique restorer\, furniture maker and production turner Steven is a prolific turner with a passion for sharing his skills and knowledge.  Steven is the vice-chair of the Association of Woodturners of great Britain (AWGB) and champions the therapeutic nature of turning.  Steven will be thread chasing and turning his laburnum ‘Flowers’ \n\nDan Tarrant RPT\n\nAbout Dan: \nOur ‘resident turner’ Dan has been turning for about 10 years and is one of our woodturning tutors.  He specialises in everyday items such as breadboards\, plates and lamps.  He is a regular demonstrator at clubs and is also a Graduate of the Emerging Turners Programme.  Dan will be demonstrating bud vases\, oval spindle turning and light pulls \n\nPaul Ridler RPT\n\nAbout Paul: \nOur long term woodturning tutor Paul has been turning for over 30 years and works with a lot of London based designers.  During this event Paul will be teaching ‘taster’ sessions in our Record Power sponsored training room.  These can be booked following this link courses \n\nStephen Rickets\n\nAbout Stephen: \nStephen is a blind woodturner.  Stephen Ricketts took up the craft from scratch after losing his sight when he was 50\, and now helps others at Llanelli Woodturning Club to develop their skills. Stephen has won numerous prizes in competitions and will be demonstrating how he turns despite being visually impaired \n\nStuart Mortimer RPT\n\nAbout Stuart: \nA turner for over 50 years Stuart’s work often features some form of spiral work\, an example is his popular twisted goblet first produced in 1969 and his twisted hollow form with a twisted finial\, his work is collected throughout the world by private collectors and museums alike. He was commissioned to make 6 finials for the celebration thrones for her Majesty the Queen\, the thrones are now in the Permanent Royal Collection. Stuart will be demonstrating his popular spiral work in various forms. \n\nRichard Strutt – Record Power\n\nAbout Rich: \nRichard will be demonstrating for Record Power\, showing off the new range of products\, including the new Carbide Tools & Victory / VersaLock using the Record Power Herald Lathe.
