DESCRIPTION:Our “Sharpening for Woodturners” course is the perfect opportunity for you to learn the essential techniques for keeping your tools sharp and ready for your woodworking projects. \nCourse Objectives: \n\nUnderstand the importance of tool sharpening in woodturning.\nLearn how to safely and effectively use a bench grinder\, linisher\, and wet grinding systems such as the Tormek and Robert Sorby Pro Edge.\nGain hands-on experience in sharpening various woodturning tools\, including gouges\, chisels\, and scrapers.\nDevelop the skills needed to maintain the optimal cutting edge for improved woodturning results.\nDiscover essential tips and tricks for achieving razor-sharp edges and smooth bevels.\nTroubleshoot common sharpening issues and errors.\nCourse start time: 9am – 12pm\n\nPlease choose course date from list below \nBy the end of this 3-hour course\, participants will have the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to confidently sharpen their woodturning tools using bench grinders\, linishers\, and wet grinding systems. SUMMARY:Wood Finishing 1-Day Course
DESCRIPTION:This one day wood finishing course will teach you from the basics through to advanced techniques for use on furniture\, woodturning or larger wooden projects such as flooring. \nThe course instructor Jamie Reed is a qualified cabinet maker and a furniture restorer with over 30 years experience.  He will guide you through techniques to apply oils\, waxes\, sanding sealer\, stains & dye’s from popular brands to suit your project.  There will be plenty of opportunity to apply this knowledge and test out products you may have not used before. \nThis is the perfect opportunity to come and ask questions about technique\, process and compatability.  The answers can be provided and\, in most cases\, opportunity will be given for you to apply this new knowledge or practice the techniques. \nThis is a practical ‘hands on’ course with disposable gloves and masks provided.  Please wear suitable clothing as you will be using oils\, stains and dyes. \nThe course will run from 10:00AM to 4:00PM and includes lunch. \nAll courses are on site in Martock\, Somerset \nPlease choose from the dates available below \nYou will not need to bring any materials with you. \nLunch is provided on the day in our cafe.  Dietary requirements are catered for and food can be chosen accordingly from the menu on the day. \nShould we be required to cancel the course due to no further bookings you will be advised 7-days in advance of the course date.
