You will need:

  • Biscuit jointer and biscuits
  • Clamps
  • Saw capable of cutting mitres
  • Router or morticer
  • Glue

This is a 'Flat Pack' style product, you will need to follow the step-by-step instructions to create this project

Step By Step

Step one: Take the four 32 x 6 x 1 and join two to each other. Leave to dry. Once dry, join the two pieces together to make one 24” piece.

Step two: David chose to mitre the 1.5” pieces to make a frame. Making sure it fitted to the 24” piece he earlier created he then biscuit jointed the two pieces together.  The other option would be to butt joint them(using square joints)

Step three: Route or mortice a 3.5” long and 5/8” deep channel into the top of two faces of all four legs. Slot in the 5/8” pieces and glue to make the base.

Step four: Sand to desired finish

Step five: Put the top onto the frame. David’s base fitted inside the 1.5” outside of the top. David hasn’t secured the top, but you could screw through the base into the top to make it one piece.

Suggested Finish

We would suggest finishing this project with a Pure Tung Oil, this is a premium, pure and natural product providing you with a long lasting matt finish.
