Shop Sales / Packing Assistant
Working Tuesday – Friday 9:30am-3:30pm + Saturday 8:30-5pm in the Tools, Machinery, Timber shop & Dispatch Centre.

The role will be split between our Woodworking, Tools & Machinery retail shop, Timber Self-Selection Centre & Dispatch Centre. A Permanent position, working 5-Days a week Tuesday – Saturday with Sunday & Monday off.

Role includes:

  • Shop floor sales, giving advice to customers
  • Picking & Packing
  • Welcoming & greeting customers
  • Serving at the checkout, processing cash and card payments
  • Looking after the customer to the best of your ability
  • Lifting & Carrying
  • Being involved in stock control
  • Cutting / Carrying / Pricing Timber
  • Keeping up to date with product information
  • Answering telephone calls
  • Pricing & Stocking shelves
  • Keeping the store clean & tidy
  • Use of company PC / Tablets
  • Packing customer orders in our dispatch center

The personal skills that are required for the job:

  • A friendly and engaging personality
  • Must be Reliable
  • Comfortable working with members of the public
  • Helpful and polite
  • Should be physically fit as they will be on their feet for most of the day and may be required to lift large amounts of stock.
  • Able to work as part of a team & use your own initiative

Requirements:

A knowledge or background of Woodworking would be an advantage - but is not required however, previous retail / sales experience would be a benefit.  You must be reliable, have a confident, friendly manner & not be afraid of a challenge.  Must be able to use your initiative to work alone or as a part of team.

Basic IT skills are required.
