1980 to 1987	UTS was founded in 1980 as a subsidary of the clock companies Kieninger, Obergfell and Gebr. Staiger for high volume production of quartz clock movements. By 1982 UTS was producing over six million quartz movements per year. In 1984, UTS was one of the first in the industry to implement fully automatic production. In 1985 the development and production with Scrap web bonding technology began. In 1987, UTS became a stand alone company.
1990 to 2005	1990 marked the ten year anniversary of UTS. A new modern production plant was introduced to meet the demand of our evergrowing customer base. By 1996 UTS had taken over the production and sales of Junghans quartz clock movements thus becoming the number one in the European market for quartz clock movements. In 1998 new development and production in Radio control clock technology had begun. Development and application of DCF 77 receiver modules in the automotive industry was launched by 1999. In 2002 UTS became the world market leader in radio controlled clock movements and has remained so to this day.
