Product Description

The SABRE range of bandsaws are the next evolutionary step from the highly regarded and market-leading Record Power premium bandsaws. We have built on the success of our premium range by introducing some fantastic new features to the SABRE-350 to make a bandsaw that is more effective, accurate and easier to use than any other machine in its class. Featuring an 1100 W output (1 1/2 horsepower) motor coupled with the heavy-duty cast iron band wheels, the SABRE-350 packs a real punch and can handle cuts to its full capacity with ease. The two speeds, which are slightly faster than comparable machines, make it ideal for cutting non-ferrous metals as well as wood. The cam-action fence adjustment, spring-loaded guides, cam-action blade tension release and double-sided fence mount make this a machine that is so easy to setup and use it leaves you free to concentrate fully on the project at hand.

Please note: Optional mitre fence available

Mitre slot size is roughly 19mm at the opening - 23mm at the widest point - this should be used as a guide only.

"Exceptional tool! Beyond expectations! The Saber 350 Premium 14 cuts eucalyptus logs which just fit through the vertical limits of the saw with ease, no burning, no slowing; the very next cut I can take a millimeter thick laminate off a 4x2 block. Exceptional!!! Thank you Record Power for another fantastic piece of professional equipment."

"I decided to upgrade my old 14" bandsaw to this Sabre 350. My old bandsaw seemed like a toy compared to the Sabre 350, what a beautiful machine. Everything about it is quality. I decided to make my own wheel base by attaching two thick battens to the base with four locking castors, this works brilliantly in my small workshop. I particularly like the fence and the ease of setting the blade guides. "

"What an amazing machine. Easy to assemble and set up. I took advice from Tomislav Tomasic, a PT and you tube demonstrater and this is the machine he recommended. For the price with wheel kit, blade set and mitre it’s a good quality machine."

"A really well made machine that is both quiet and accurate, as well as being easy to set up the blade guides. I would also recommend purchasing the small rip fence as well unless all your cuts are going to be very deep cuts, as the very tall fence does not allow the upper guides to be lowered enough for the majority of cuts if the material is too narrow."

"Great machine - well made. My only comment is that the instructions for assembly were not great. The black and white photos didn’t help but the worst bit was the time wasted to set up the rip fence bar - this was done much more quickly with the rip fence assembled to it. The vertical alignment is the only important one and this was achieved in minutes with the help of an engineers square. "

"Having discovered both Record Power and Yandles while browsing the internet, I’m so glad I took the plunge and bought the Sabre 350. It’s not cheap, especially for a newbie midlife crisis woodworker like myself, but this piece of kit is built to last. It will probably end up as an heirloom. Additionally, the customer service from both companies is second to none. Other reviewers were not wrong. Yandles are always my first port of call now. "

"Been toying with the prospect of upgrading from the Bs250 for a while now. Decided on the Sabre 350, as realise some of the problems i've had with the 250 were due to poor bearing set up, usually down to difficultly of access on that machine and laztness on my part. Having done copious research and watched several You tube videos I decided on the Sabre 350. Well it arrived today. Delivered as expected on a pallet. Don't be put off by size and weight of box. This ease fairly easy to set up on your own. At least it is if you are buying with the under cabinet and wheel kit. Cabinte went together extremely easily and felt nice and sturdy. Now with the saw led down still in box on pallet was simple matter of using some wooden blocks and jacking the cabinent up to line up the holes. once secure, a relatively easy lift into vertical position. Add the wheels and done. Fitting table and getting it square a tad more fiddly but worth the time and faffing around. As has been said fitting the fence guide was a real pain getting it parallel first then level with the table. Interesting to note once fence was fitted seemed the only way to get fenceat 90 to table was to adjust guide bar while fence in situ.. Note this had been mentioned in at least one other video i had seen. Guide bearing adjustment a peice of cake and easy access. Once all checked and adjusted first cuts made with stock blade as supplied with machine. WOW 6 inch wide 10mm thick bit of scrap pine, re sawn parallel and 4mm thick. Then cut a selection of woods into laminate strips again smooth cuts even thickness. Over all Great saw easy set up accurate in use likely to get even better cuts with better blades. For its price unlikely to be beaten. Stop thinking about it just buy one."

" Everything good except there was no wheel kit. Reported this matter and was sent the wrong wheel kit 10 days later. Again reported the problem. Apologies all round was promised the correct wheel kit as soon as possible plus “extras to compensate for all my hassle. Eventually received the correct wheel kit without the promised extras. "

"Overall, a formidable bandsaw with a powerful motor. It is well made and has a great table. The blade guides are very easy to adjust, the rear bearing would have been better if it had a groove for extra blade stability. The locker on the bottom is very useful. My negative with the bandsaw is the dust collection, I have made a collector that just fits under the table which has made a big difference but this should not have been necessary. Other bandsaw's I have seen have a guard around the blade just under the table, the record doesn't it has a plastic blade surround, not very robust. On performance, I have cut some very thin wood and some thick logs, very good performance, the saw doesn't blink at thick oak, just cuts on through. It also feels a safe saw to use, on some intricate work, I have my fingers close to the blade with no issues. One point to note, because of the heavy wheels, it does take some time to stop after you turn the power off, have to watch you don't approach the blade until you can see the teeth!! Overall very pleased...especially the power!"

"Really pleased with my purchase. I have not used it yet to its full potential but happy so far. Takes a while to set up but a really well made piece of kit. Only downside was the courier company expected me to unload it and at 145Kg (300ib) a bit of a challenge although the driver did help."

"A fine bandsaw that is well made and sturdy. That being said I can't give it more than 3 stars because of a glaring omission by Record Power of which I was completely unaware before purchase. The saw doesn't come with a mitre fence. Fifteen hundred pounds for the tool and no mitre fence, an obvious and necessary part of any motorised saw. Obviously Record Power are cost cutting but removing an essential guide to accurate cutting is not good practice. Very disappointing. Whilst we're reviewing the tool we should probably mention Yandles' appalling delivery service. Yandles themselves were fine and the actual guy that delivered the unit was especially helpful in aiding me to get the very heavy unit off the pavement and into the garage. However, the bit in between - after leaving Yandles shop but before being put on the deliver truck - was terrible. Trying to talk to Yandles Despatch department was a forlorn task, I'm sure they've got a phone but sadly no-one apparently able to answer it. Two weeks to deliver the unit was a bit too long to merit any applause."

"Fairly straightforward to put together and set up. Really like the quick adjusting guides. It’s much bigger than my previous bandsaw with more power and certainly does the job well enough for me now. It’ll be a “keeper” for me as I won’t need anything bigger than this. It’s quite a heavy but of kit so it’s best to have two people to help move it into position."

"I just purchased a Sabre 350 bandsaw to replace my much smaller Axminster hobby machine. I am very pleased with the quality accuracy and power of this bandsaw. It took a couple of hours to assemble but was very straightforward and resaw cuts down to 2mm are no problem. Now."

"Brilliant purchase. Fantastic performance, not too tricky to assemble, looks fab. The only frustration i have is with the fence set up – it’s difficult to calibrate horizontally and vertically at the same time as the adjustment is simply by two (deliberately) loose-fitting bolts with adjustment range before they are tightened. Took me ages to dial it in – easy to do in one plane but not in both together. I feel there’s probably a more elegant adjustment solution to be found here. But once set it hasn't moved and the calibration effort was worth it as i was immediately able to cut veneers down to 0.5mm in thickness (verified by vernier callipers) even with the stock blade. Also, the fence does stick out a long way at the front of the machine - presumably to increase range to the right hand side of the blade when the fence is in flat orientation, but after walking into it a couple of times, I've had to tape some foam around the end for my own safety, and I would happily lose a bit of cutting depth for a slightly shorter fence if I’m honest – might be less of an issue in others’ workshops. I haven't yet bothered changing out the stock blade, which arrived in place and correctly tensioned, as despite expectations, it cuts fine, although I suspect it won’t last long. I'll wear it out then move on to some better ones. So can’t comment on blade changing yet, but looks straight forward. Also can't comment on dust extraction because the port looks hopeless in its positioning at the bottom of the housing – far too far away from the action, so I just ignored it and immediately rigged up a DIY dust extraction port for my V-Tuf vac immediately below the table opening with some 40mm plastic plumbing waste pipe and a couple of elbows, attached to a bit of ply that is then attached to the cabinet door with magnets. A slot cut in the end of the pipe sits around the blade. This jig works well and picks up all but the heaviest of particles (the ones of least concern) - highly recommend doing the same and there is plenty of space under the table to allow this (you need to remove the flimsy plastic blade shield under the table but this doesn’t seem to be doing much, and the plumbing pipe has a similarly shielding effect anyway). Overall it apes the much more effective looking dust port on the Sabre 450. The optional wheel kit is very effective and essential if you plan to move it. Overall, after some time getting it set up and with my DIY dust extraction solution i'm delighted with the machine! It's transformed my woodworking abilities (i'm otherwise largely a hand tool worker but there's some jobs that just need a good bandsaw!). After initially thinking I would get something smaller and cheaper, I don't regret buying a big and capable machine, as all the recommendations seem to be to do so - i'm sure i'll soon be using all of its ripping capacity, and frankly the smaller machines have such limited ripping depth you don’t gain enough functionality over a handsaw and some elbow grease to make it worth bothering, for my needs at least. Excellent service and communication from Yandles – nice company to deal with. "

"Brilliant purchase. Fantastic performance, not to tricky to assemble, looks fab. The only frustration i have is with the fence - its difficult to calibrate horizontally and laterally at the same time as the adjustment is simply by two (deliberately) loose-fitting bolts with adjustment range. Can't comment on dust extraction but the port looks hopeless - i immediately rigged up a shopvac dust extraction port immediately below the table with some plastic plumbing pipe and a couple of elbows, screwed to a bit of ply that is then attached to the cabinet door with magnets. This picks up all but the heaviest of particles (the ones of least concern) - highly recommend doing the same and there is plenty of space to do so. Wheelkit is very effective and i wouldn't want to be moving it about with the stock wheels that require tilting the machine. Overall, after some time getting it set up and with my DIY dust solution i'm delighted with the machine! It's transformed my woodworking abilities (i'm otherwise largely a hand tool worker but there's some jobs that just need a good bandsaw!). "Very impressed with the bandsaw's performance so far, although the original blade supplied with it isn't the best. Putting it together took a good hour or 2 and the wheel kit is a must if, like me, you don't have masses of room in your workshop. Moving it around with the wheels is a breeze. I 'ummed' and 'ahhed' for the best part of a year before I made the purchase, glad I did in the end. Yandles were helpful when I contacted them, although delivery was not as described to me.... it was left on my drive in the drizzle having received no notification of when delivery would be. I am on the I.o.W though.... so I am used to the odd hiccup with deliveries, plus I still qualified for free delivery! Tracking information would have made this (pallet) delivery a bit more reassuring. This was my second purchase from Yandles and won't be my last."

"Very happy with the bandsaw. I spent quite some time researching and comparing the competitor’s offerings. Having made my decision and having received the machine I’m sure I made the correct choice. The Sabre 350 is a very well built piece of kit, easy to set up and use. The saw was delivered on a pallet and well packaged. I paid the extra for the wheel kit which makes moving the machine around the workshop a breeze - I don’t have the space to leave the machine permanently set up so this is essential. Building up the base cabinet was straightforward but I would recommend having a helper if only to make the lift from the horizontal to vertical. Yandles delivered superbly. We live in remote Argyll and many companies seem to struggle delivering large items - not Yandles, they just got on with it. Overall I would very much recommend this bandsaw, if you think you’ll need to move it around your workshop I’d very much recommend the wheel kit. I’d also recommend Yandles, first time I’ve used them, I’m sure not the last."

"I have been looking to update my old dewalt bandsaw for quite some time and searching through utube reviews of every bandsaw available on the market , i wanted a saw built to last with cast iron wheels and a excellent fence system about a month ago the record power sabre 350 popped up on my screen and it got my attention the more i looked the more it impressed me and it had an impressive price too i bought it about a month ago without going to see it its easy to set up it cuts beautifully and is accurate with plenty of capacity it doesnt vibrate at all and even came with a pack of 3 extra blades plus the one already fitted and a very nice magnetic light you wont find a better saw for twice what this cost hope this helps"

"A smashing piece of kit, well made and accurate. I’m now regularly re-sawing deep ash and oak boards, exploiting the full depth of the machine. Using a 3/4”, 3tpi blade it leaves a lovely finish on 12”” cuts. Dust extraction is very good. The fence is much better than found on opposition's machines. Easy to set and use both sides of the blade. The machine was delivered quickly (Within 3 days of placing the order) and was very straightforward to set up out of the box. The wheel kit is an extremely useful addition making the machine very easy to tuck out of the way when not needed. Like most people, I studied the market and am certain that this is a better machine than its competition. It’s very well made, clearly extremely robust and Capable of doing what it says in the marketing blurb. It represents very good value for money and I certainly can’t fault the service from Yandles "

"Shop service excellent. 10/10 ,The bandsaw is what I should have bought 20 years ago.It is large enough for my needs and so far has proven to be very robust. My only gripe is the dust collection .When cutting on my sled the 18 mm gap between wood and the table is not vacuumed sufficiently because of the suction tube that goes around the blade seems to take all the suction.Almost zero suction is applied to the table insert which does have holes in it . .I have cut and fitted plastic pipe to this area (under the table) and it has improved BUT i think without taking the blade tube away suction will never be better ."

"I have spent a lot of time looking at bandsaw reviews and I decided the Record Power Sabre 350 is the best option for me. Assembly was straightforward and with the help of my grandson' we had it assembled in about an hour. Setting up took a little longer because I wanted to make sure the saw was set up correctly. I followed the set up instructions provided on the DVD that came with the machine. I am very pleased with the result. I have accurately ripped a thin veneer and cross cut a piece of 4 by 4 perfectly square using the cast iron mitre fence which I also bought. Overall I believe I have a good bandsaw which is good value for money. "

Finally after some advice and YouTube videos I thought the sabre version of record powers bandsaws looked like it could be the one. Thick hardwood cuts with no problem, power and build quality are brilliant with nice features like quick blade change. Would highly reccomend if you want power and quality "

"Haven't used it much yet but from what I can see it's a good quality machine at a reasonable price. Good service from Yandels and Record Power. The wheel kit works okay but the positioning of the pin and the rake of the handle make it difficult to engage in the small hole which pivots the machine. When I get around to it I'll probably give it a clout with a hammer. Should do the trick!"

"This bandsaw performs very well indeed, even with the stock blade. After tuning up according to Alex Snodgrass' instructions I'm getting very accurate cuts, no drift whatsoever. However, it's let down by the fence. It racks so much while adjusting its hard to dial in the setting you need and the measurements on the bar are more or less useless. Tightening up the fence also tends to cause it to shift its position if you're not very careful. Its solid but primitive and poorly engineered. I'll probably end up fitting a different one. Assembly instructions leave a bit to be desired too. The photos are no help at all. "
