Wood - Blanks & Squares [A to C]

Part Seasoned.
A distinctive Black appearance, but with plum shades and brown streaks.

Kiln Dried. A rich dark brown timber, similar to Laural. Easy to turn and takes a good finish.

Air dried. Heartwood is cream to olive-brown. Turns and works well. American Ash is available on request.

We keep a good selection of York Gum, Salmon Gum, Grey Gum, Jarrah, Flooded Box and Black Butt Burls in various sizes. There is also a selection of Tasmanian Timbers, including Red Gum, Blue Gum, Goldy Wood, Native Pear and Huon Pine in bowl blanks. Prices on request. eg Gold Burrs £3.60 per kg.

Grows from small tree. Sizes vary between approximately 5" to 9" long. Very hard and solid with seed pods running from the outside in. £2.20 each - quantity discount.

Kiln Dried. Heartwood is a very pale white to pink. Straight grained. 4" available on request.

Very Dark brown timber with light flecks.

Kiln dried. Light brown with darker veins. Paler version of Zebrano but without the smell. Turns and polishes well.

Bocote is often stocked. It will possibly be available in our main shop in Martock. Please phone or email for details of current stocks.

Part Seasoned. Heartwood is light yellow in colour. Very Good to Turn. We carry a selection of Boxwood logs in short and long lengths and a variety of diameters from 1" up to approximately 4".

Kiln dried. dark chocolate brown timber. A much darker, richer colour than our native walnut.
Easy to turn and takes a good finish.

Kiln Dried. Light pink to reddish brown with darker red/purple streaks.
Works well and takes a good polish.

Air Dried. Heartwood is creamy yellow with a strong scent. Occasional knots will be found.

Kiln Dried. Heartwood is redish brown with distinctive growth rings. Relatively soft to work. Turns and carves well.

Air Dried. Similar to Oak but soft.

Part Seasoned.
Dark red bands with purple/black veins on vivid orange background that mellows to a rich brown.
